Interesting food posts from around the web
August 6th, 2009
Remember when I used to do these daily? *sigh*
- Fawn discovered a sugarless baby biscuit for her baby that’s simple to make and uses only 2 ingredients. I want to make some for myself! [Fawnahareo’s Place]
- Now I know what “mechanically separated chicken” looks like and wish I didn’t. [Fooducate]
- Fooducate also looks at bogus serving sizes on packaged food.
- An interesting article by Michael Pollan on the decline of home cooking [New York Times]
- How To Send Food Back At a Restaurant [Via Slashfood]
- Social stress may cause the body to deposit more fat in the abdomen [HealthDay]
- Today’s National Post reports that “According to the results of a Canadian study released this week, women eat much less around men than they do around other women, and alone.”
- Jess of Sift, Dust & Toss comments on the National Post article. Here’s my commentary: I eat the same with friends of either gender. If I’m on a date I don’t want to be “that girl” who eats only salad. I eat healthy at home and take salads for lunch almost daily. When I’m out the last thing I want is another salad (usually). Give me french fries. Give me crème brûlée.

Apologies for letting this blog stagnate. This evening I will post a review of yesterday’s experience at Harvest Wednesdays where I sat with super duo of TasteTO Sheryl Kirby and Greg Clow, at their table along with… well, other nice people who I’ll reveal later.
