And speaking of new restaurants in the west end of Toronto, visit the recently opened Ossington Stop for a free lunch from noon until 5 p.m. this Thursday July 17).
On Thursday’s free lunch menu:
- Steamed Bun with pork, cabbage, and carrot salad
- Chicken n’ Waffles with roasted chicken, a Southern savory waffle, and honey garlic sauce
- Baked BBQ Side Ribs with a sweet and tangy BBQ sauce and the “deep goodness” slaw
Fusing comfort food, cheap drinks, and a kitchen open until 4 a.m., Ossington Stop claims to “usurp all others” as the late night baron of booze and bites on Dundas West. Ossington Shop boasts $4 beers (mostly from Creemore), $5 glasses of wine, and shots for only $4 each ($7 for doubles). With its late weekend closing (is it night or morning at 4 a.m,?) and cheap drinks it seems like the ideal place for those working in the bar industry.
Their website proclaims,
We feed the masses, every stop of the way!
I guess that just like with the drug dealer cliché, first time’s free, then you’ve got to pay?
